Chimfunshi Chimpanzee Sanctuary & Wildlife Orphanage - monthly sponsorship of Leila

In the heart of Africa, nestled in northern Zambia’s Copperbelt region, beats a heart tangled with compassion and empathy, much like the vines of the Miombo forest. It was here that David and Sheila Siddle established Chimfunshi Wildlife Orphanage in 1983. The sanctuary’s origins trace back to the remarkable recovery of a badly wounded chimpanzee named “Pal”, whose story resonated globally. In 1993-95, Chimfunshi Wildlife Orphanage officially became a trust, solidifying its commitment to sustainability. Since then, Chimfunshi has remained a sanctuary for primates and endangered wildlife, showcasing a dedication to conservation that spans across continents.

Animal Justice

Animal Justice leads the legal fight for animals in Canada. Their lawyers work to pass strong new animal protection laws, push to hold industries accountable for abusing animals, and fight on behalf of animals in court.

People for the Ethical Treatment of Animals (PETA)

People for the Ethical Treatment of Animals (PETA) is the largest animal rights organization in the world, and PETA entities have more than 9 million members and supporters globally.

PETA opposes speciesism, a human-supremacist worldview, and focuses its attention on the four areas in which the largest numbers of animals suffer the most intensely for the longest periods of time: in laboratories, in the food industry, in the clothing trade, and in the entertainment business. PETA also works on a variety of other issues, including the cruel killing of rodents, birds, and other animals who are often considered “pests” as well as cruelty to domesticated animals.

PETA works through public education, investigative newsgathering and reporting, research, animal rescue, legislation, special events, celebrity involvement, and protest campaigns.

Happily Forever Esther Farm Sanctuary

Happily Ever Esther Farm Sanctuary, located in Cambridge, Ontario, Canada, was founded in 2014. Their mission is to rescue abused, neglected, and abandoned farmed animals; provide a safe, life-long home for all of their sanctuary residents; educate the public about the true nature of farmed animals; and promote the health and well-being of farmed animals everywhere.

Farm Sanctuary New York - monthly sponsorship of Phoenix the Hen

Farm Sanctuary was founded in 1986 to combat the abuses of factory farming, advocate for institutional reforms, and encourage a new awareness and understanding of farm animals and the benefits of plant-based living. In recent years, science has confirmed the inhumane and destructive impact of animal agriculture — a food system based on interrelated oppression and injustice.

As the founding farm animal Sanctuary in the U.S., Farm Sanctuary has rescued and provided refuge for countless survivors of the animal agriculture system. Today, at Farm Sanctuary’s Los Angeles, CA and Watkins Glen, NY Sanctuaries you will find over 600 rescued animals — each with an individual story to tell. These survivors are ambassadors, representing the billions of farm animals currently in the system. They, and others like them, have changed the hearts and minds of a generation.
